Grand Jury Begins Hearing Testimony on Hit & Run

Last week the Grand Jury began hearing testimony and reviewing evidence concerning the fatal hit and run incident from January 26, 2011, involving Anthony Martin. Earlier today, the Grand Jury indicted Brett Lee Biedscheid for Criminal Negligent Homicide and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver when a Person is Killed, for the incident resulting in the death of Mr. Martin.
The Grand Jury reviewed evidence from witnesses, law enforcement officers, reviewed documents and video tapes. The defendant will be arraigned on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 9:00AM.
The District Attorney appreciates the expert and thorough manner in which members of the Bend Police Department investigated this case. Additionally, we appreciate the opportunity to work closely and collaborate with our law enforcement partners throughout this investigation.
